Scanners | Request Information
A new type of digital system developed by Minolta has revolutionized
the scanning, printing and distribution process of bound publications.
The PS 7000 and PS 3000 scanners digitize books face up providing
a more gentle and productive process of converting pages to electronic
files or high quality prints.
Minolta
PS 7000 Digital Publication Scanner
The PS 7000 allows the scanning of large, bound publications up
to 17" x 23" face-up, while converting pages to digital images.
Once in electronic format, these images may be faxed, attached to
E-mail messages, or stored to disk for distribution. Adding Optical
Character Recognition (OCR) software allows the images to be converted
to text for word search applications. Utilizing a TWAIN or ISIS
interface, the PS 7000 can scan up to 600 DPI to create high resolution
images.
Advantages of the PS 7000 include:
- Image Editing
Automatically erases center shadow in the gutter during open book
scanning and also allows frame masking and select finger masking.
- Resolution
Multiple image resolution settings provide outputs of up to 600dpi.
- Set PC or Printer
Direct Print or PC-Connect Mode - a single button switches your
PS 7000 output from a Minolta 11" x 17" printer to PC.
- Simple Controls
Makes scanning bound volumes quick and simple.
- Faster Scanning
Face-up scanning is better for bound materials, because you don't
have to handle them repeatedly or press down on bindings. One
scan produces multiple copies, minimizing light exposure on rare
or deteriorated books.
- Optional 90 Degree Book Cradle
Three different settings for enhanced book spine support.
- Automatic Curve Correction
Compensates for page curvature at the center spine. The PS 7000
can also automatically mask borders, erase shadows, and erase
the image of fingers holding open the pages of bound materials.
- Dual Function of Scanning to a PC or Scanning done directly
to a video connected printer.
Minolta
PS 3000 Digital Publication Scanner
- 11" x 17" Scanning area
- Up to 400 dpi resolution
- Less than 4 second scanning speed
- Automatic masking to erase centerline shadows and mask borders
- Book Curvature Correction to compensate for page curvature at
the gutter of a book.
- Ariel Scanning Interface to scan directly into Ariel Software
for convenient image distribution.
