The New Bibliotheque Nationale du Quebec Uses Montel's Custom Library Storage Solutions

Client: City of Montreal

Location: Montreal, PQ, Canada

Challenge: With the novel amalgamation of the Grande Bibliotheque du Quebec and the Bibliotheque nationale du Quebec, the $141 million six-level state-of-the-art public library needed efficient storage solutions to house more than 4 million documents such as print documents, audiovisual documents, microforms, prints, fine bindings, etc.

Objective: The vast 33,000 meters square multifunctional public library needed to provide open and free access to more than 4 million documents, including one million books, while optimizing space utilization and easy access to secure and safe shelving systems that would stack Quebec’s national library collection.

Solution: Montel’s custom-design engineered solution involved the supply and installation of stationary library shelving exceeding space utilization needs and performance specifications.
